I know that it's been a little bit since I last posted and I apologize for the break.
I've had a busy couple of weeks: prepping to dance at River Fest & then performing, a son who just got engaged (YAY!!) and a paternal cousin who just got diagnosed with breast cancer after finding out that she's carrying twins.
It's Jennifer's first pregnancy and because of a horrible set of circumstances, she's not able to enjoy as much of it as she should. She's lost one of the babies (not due to the diagnosis), had a mastectomy of the cancerous breast and has already started chemo.
I've asked my aunt how it is that the chemo won't hurt the surviving baby: they've been told (by the oncologist) that there's a specific type of chemo that won't harm the fetus due to the placenta filtering it out. Which means... mom loses HER hair but BABY comes out with a head full!! The she starts with full on chemo a few weeks after delivery- which means no breast feeding due to the chemo she's already done.
So far the odds are on her side: they caught it early, her tests look good, she's in excellent health otherwise and her mental outlook is amazing!! Her husband is a great guy and is a huge reason Jen has dealt so well with all this crap so far...Jay's been an undending source of support and love for her to lean on.
Because the circumstances are so similar to my own diagnosis (our ages at the time of diagnosis, type of cancer, location of the cancer, how it grows, etc) I've let them know that I've authorized my oncologist to release any information to Jen's dr on the off chance that there's anything that might help Jen from my treatment.
Goddess knows that she'll need all the help she can get, so there's going to be a lot of candle burning done for the next several months!!

To be fair...
To be fair, I can't go into telling this tale without first saying that my dealings with Nefer per Nejer weren't entirely bad.
We became involved with them as a group this past August, became friends with them and had a great time. I was charmed by Isis, grew to love her as a Crone and a Priestess and was happy to have found a kindred spirit- we both follow Egyptian Path. I was eventually invited to help teach a class Isis was starting on basic Craft as a way to satisfy my own teachers requirements for attaining my next degree. (more details on this issue to be given later)We were even both invited to join their circle. I made the decision to join but only making it plain that I would do so AFTER completing my training.
We thought so highly of them as a whole and as individuals that Silver Crow made them board members of TGR and ARPP and even asked Isis and Nebkhperure to babysit a particular group of his when he began having problems with Uni. All of this hummed along rather well until they (en masse) quit TGR with no warning and no discussion. (The only one who stayed was Psyche-Bastet).
Things just went to hell in a handbasket after that....
